I just bought a Moto X and decided to sketch some improvements for lock screen notifications. Android has a lot of potential when it comes to lock screen controls. This experiment would make the interface much smoother, and more integrated into security. One thing the Moto X lacked was a notification light. The colored circle would always be present, slowly pulsing like a heartbeat.
Animations would be used heavily to convey motion and hierarchy. When one says "OK Google Now," the notification ring would become the listening icon. An interface should flow from one screen to the other.
