Improvements to Elevator Interaction

I was in Toronto this weekend, and created a better interface for calling an Elevator while waiting in a hotel. One can simply drag their hand (or knee if hands are full) up to call an elevator. This would be done with IR, the arrows could pop out for those who like to press mechanically.

Indicator lights would act as IR sensors and to show where the elevator is in relation to  you in the building. Green is you, blue is the elevator. The arrows could  send out a unique IR pulse (up/down) and the Indicators could detect them as the hand moves. Could be done without any moving parts.
